Quality Control AuditorCOT IA - Missouri Valley, IA 51555OverviewSalary Range $17.50 Level Entry Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Category ManufacturingDescriptionCarry-On Trailer is NOW HIRING with a NEW STARTING WAGE and $1000 Hiring Bonus!The Quality Assurance Inspector performs assessment, documentation, and organization tasks to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the production line. Their duties and responsibilities include:Inspecting Finished trailers using Carry-on Trailer methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions, and examining functionalityChecking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with customer requirementsReviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goodsRecording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality databaseAdvising the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellenceProposing improvements to the production processUpdating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular trainingKeeping measurement equipment operating accurately by verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly, and following calibration requirements and calling for repairsUsing gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure productsCollecting and compiling statistical quality dataAuditing test methods and inspection plansDetermining the causes of product defects and reworksMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESDuties include, but not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned:Follow all OSHA and plant safety rules including lock-out tag-out, etc.Assist in Quality activities necessary to sustain the highest levels of products possible.Able to read and interpret drawings.Able to perform basic MathPerform visual and dimensional inspections to verify product/component compliance.Record inspection results on Inspection Data Sheets.Reject defective parts, label and segregate as necessary.Perform duties in accordance with applicable OP and WI instructions.Able to meet quality and productivity standards as defined by the Carry-on Trailer.Work with Engineering other management to resolve problemsEffectively communicate issues verbally and written documentation to all concernedPerform product & process auditsHelp define and sustain proper 5S standards in required areas.Teach & Coach operators to proper Quality standards.Facilitate the effective hand-off of Quality issues to your incoming shift peer. Ensure effective communication of all issues and corrective actions.Inspect products in receiving, welding, paint, and assembly process.Assist Quality Management in any other requested activities.Work conditions:Required to used hands to fingers, handle, or feelReach with hands and armsRequired to stand, walk, stoop, kneel. Occasionally required to sit, climb up and down ladders, and balance.The work environment characteristics could be:The employee will be standing and walking for most of the dayEmployee will be spending most of their workday outside in each of the elements; hot, cold, rain, snow, etc.Employee will be exposed to moving parts.Vision abilities by this job include color vision, ability to adjust focus.QualificationsREQUIREMENTSEducation Required: Minimum high school diploma is required. Formal Training or equivalent experience in GD&T a plusExperience working with measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, Height gauges, CMM, etc. Ability to work alone without constant supervision. Leadership skills a major plusWork Experience 1~2+ years of Quality experience working with Quality Management System within a repetitive manufacturing environment. Experience troubleshooting issues. Experience with Root cause analysis and continuous Improvement Experience in LeadershipSkills & Knowledge Required: Must be able to read and interpret drawings/prints Working knowledge of Computer Based Management Systems a plus. Ability to Multi-task and perform well under pressure. Ability to work as a key member and leader of a team when required. High Energy & Dependable
