This Director will serve private equity, direct lenders and corporate clients to increase value through thoughtful transaction diligence and structuring. The Director, Healthcare & Life Sciences will report directly to the TAS Practice Line Leader and manage a broad range of responsibilities across buy-side and sell-side transactions, including financial and business due diligence, as well as accounting and financial reporting. This person will lead key initiatives, manage discrete workstreams and work closely with senior leaders. ResponsibilitiesPartner directly with senior Portage Point leaders and clients to develop comprehensive transaction solutions across the healthcare and life sciences continuum, including providers, payers, pharma, medtech and digital healthLead multiple engagements and cultivate lasting client relationships through sector-focused, insight-driven executionOwn the engagement lifecycle, including scoping and contracting, resource planning and staffing, budget development, WIP management, and timely billing and collectionsExecute buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence with a focus on healthcare-specific dynamics, such as revenue cycle, reimbursement models, physician alignment, regulatory and compliance considerations and payer mixPerform quality of earnings, working capital, net debt and cash flow analyses tailored to the unique drivers and risks of healthcare transactionsSupport clients through transaction negotiations, including purchase agreement review and working capital definition and negotiationReview healthcare-specific contracts and agreements (e.g., payer / provider contracts, joint ventures, management service agreements) to identify deal implicationsDraft clear and compelling diligence reports highlighting key findings, including normalized earnings, regulatory risks, operational benchmarks and post-close integration considerationsCollaborate cross-functionally with PI, TRS and IB teams to deliver integrated solutions that address clinical, operational and financial challenges unique to healthcare organizationsLead proposal development and pitch delivery for healthcare & life sciences opportunities, including cross-sell into PI, TRS, VAL and IBBegin building a personal and institutional network of healthcare-focused private equity investors, strategic buyers and executives to drive recurring engagements and revenue growthProvide coaching and mentorship to junior team members, sharing healthcare sector acumen and transaction advisory best practicesLead or support internal trainings and best practice sharingSupport talent acquisition and firm-building initiativesContribute to a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven culture.QualificationsBachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate programLocated in or willing to relocate to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Palm Beach or PhiladelphiaInvested in a team-based culture, motivated to collaborate in office four days per week and willing to work at client sites as neededActive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required; CFA or healthcare-related certifications (e.g., HFMA CHFP) is a plusAt least eight years of financial due diligence and transaction advisory experience, with a significant focus on healthcare and life sciences transactions (providers, payers, pharma, biotech, medtech or healthcare IT)Professional experience within a Big Four accounting or top-tier advisory firm leading healthcare-focused diligence engagementsUnderstanding of US GAAP principles and healthcare-specific accounting considerations, including revenue recognition under ASC 606, value-based care arrangements and third-party payor dynamicsStrong financial modeling and data visualization skills; familiarity with Tableau, Alteryx and healthcare data sources (CMS, HCRIS, etc.) preferredProven ability to lead teams in high-pressure, client-facing environments and drive solution development for complex, regulated marketsSuperior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skillsProven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teamsHigh attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindsetTrack record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments$550,000 - $850,000 a yearIn accordance with pay transparency laws in the City of New York and the State of California, Portage Point provides a good-faith cash compensation range for this position. This range represents the cash compensation (base plus bonus) that the firm reasonably expects to pay upon hire, based on good-faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. The final compensation within this range will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, education, training, experience and location.
