Position Summary:
The Facilities Day Porter assists with the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of school buildings, equipment, grounds, and facilities. Work assignments may involve a variety of building trades and support services to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained campus environment.
Responsibilities:
• Assists with routine and preventive maintenance as assigned by the Facilities Director, Assistant Facilities Director, or Facilities Maintenance Foreman.
• Performs heavy labor and semi-skilled tasks involving a variety of trades to install, repair, maintain, and care for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Safely operates hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in installation, maintenance, repair, and finishing work.
• Performs recurring tasks such as carrying, moving, and delivering supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Performs and assists with the maintenance of grounds, landscaping, and outdoor structures.
• Assists with minor carpentry and painting projects, including repairs, touch-up painting, patching, installation, and general facility maintenance.
• Performs and assists with event setup, including arranging chairs, tables, audiovisual equipment, and supplies.
• Assists with the daily cleaning of picnic tables, benches, and other outdoor areas, as well as general cleaning duties as assigned.
• Assists with receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, and organizing storage areas.
• Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.
