Job Title: Community Engagement Specialist

Program: Development

Location: Office 1500 Route 88, Brick New Jersey

Position Type: Full Time

Salary: $55,000.00

Job Description/Summary

This position is responsible for advancing PBHG's brand, strengthening its strategic position in the market, and expanding its connection to the communities it serves. Through coordinated marketing, communications, digital engagement, community relations, and development support, the role will increase awareness of PBHG's services, elevate its impact and reputation, and create meaningful connections with clients, partners, donors, and community stakeholders. Ultimately, the position ensures PBHG is visible, recognizable, accessible, and strategically positioned to further its mission and expand its impact.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy, Brand Management & Creative Services

• Implement organizational marketing strategy and priorities
• Conduct marketing needs assessments to identify goals, target audiences, messaging needs
• Maintain brand consistency across programs, departments, and locations
• Coordinate with marketing consultants to ensure strategic alignment and adherence to marketing policies and procedures
• Gather and develop testimonials, impact stories, and success stories that demonstrate mission impact
• Develop graphic design and creative assets for digital and print marketing
• Create brochures, flyers, signage, advertisements, promotional materials, infographics, and other collateral
• Coordinate print production and outside vendors as needed
• Maintain marketing templates, photography, and brand assets

Digital Marketing & Communications

A. Social Media Management

• Develop and maintain organization-wide social media calendar, create, schedule, and publish content
• Develop graphics, photography, video, and other digital content
• Monitor messages, comments, engagement, and customer inquiries;
• Coordinate responses and escalate concerns when appropriate
• Maintain appropriate account access and security, monitor engagement and performance

B. Email Marketing – Internal & External

• Coordinate internal and external email communications
• Develop email strategy and campaign calendars
• Write and develop content
• Create graphics and email layouts
• Manage distribution lists and scheduling
• Monitor campaign engagement and effectiveness

C. Website & Digital Presence Management

• Maintain accurate and current website content
• Complete ongoing program, staff, event, and organizational updates
• Coordinate larger website changes as needed
• Perform basic SEO maintenance
• Maintain Google/local business listings and monitor online reputation

III. Community Relations & Organizational Visibility

• Maintain calendar of community events and opportunities; coordinate registration/participation
• Coordinate staff attendance and representation; attend priority community events
• Capture live photos/video and promote organizational participation
• Develop post-event social media and communications
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and partners
• Identify opportunities to increase organizational visibility and engagement

IV. Development & Fundraising Support

• Develop event graphics, collateral, signage, digital content, and promotional materials for fundraising campaigns and events
• Support event registration and communications
• Provide event-day marketing and logistical support as needed
• Capture content for post-event marketing and donor communications
• Maintain and restock promotional items and organizational swag
• Support development-related mailings and receivables

V. General Coordination & Administrative Support

• Integrated across responsibilities
• Maintain marketing and community relations calendars
• Coordinate projects, deadlines, vendors, and deliverables
• Maintain marketing files, assets, and inventories
• Provide additional marketing, communications, community relations, and development support as assigned

Qualifications

• Education - Bachelor's degree plus 1 – 3 years of marketing and communications experience.
