Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting general warehouse and production operations. This role ensures materials and products move efficiently through the facility while adhering to safety, quality, and documentation standards. The position involves cross-functional duties in warehousing and production to support overall operational flow. The shipping and receiving clerk will report daily to the facility located at 2255 N. Pagosa Suite 100 in Aurora Colorado. This role reports to the warehouse manager and is essential to ensuring smooth material flow from receipt through production to final shipment while maintaining accuracy and supporting the broader warehouse and production teams.

Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for quantity, condition, and accuracy.
• Unload trucks, stage materials, and process receipts in the inventory system.
• Prepare outgoing shipments: pick, pack, label, and stage orders according to customer or production requirements.
• Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries; prepare shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists, labels).
• Resolve discrepancies (shortages, damages, incorrect items) by documenting issues and communicating with vendors, purchasing, or the warehouse manager.
• Maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound transactions.

Warehousing
• Put away received materials to correct storage locations using FIFO or other designated methods.
• Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Organize and maintain warehouse cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards.
• Operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts if certified) to move product safely and efficiently.
• Support inventory control processes and assist with stock transfers or replenishment.

Production Support
• Stage raw materials, components, or packaging supplies for production lines as needed.
• Assist with production-related material handling, including moving finished goods from production to staging or shipping areas.
• Support production teams by locating and delivering required materials in a timely manner.
• Help with basic production tasks during peak periods or as directed (e.g., packaging, labeling, or light assembly support).
• Communicate material shortages or quality concerns promptly to the warehouse manager and production supervisors.

General Duties
• Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with special projects or other warehouse/production tasks as assigned by the warehouse manager.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to process efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in logistics/warehouse operations preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or production environment preferred.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment; forklift certification a plus.
• Basic computer skills, including inventory management systems and Microsoft Office (or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible hours as needed to support shipping schedules or production demands.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand/walk for extended periods, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
