Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical unit at a critical access hospital. The ideal candidate will have relevant hospital nursing experience, strong clinical assessment skills, and proficiency with Epic electronic medical records.

First-time travel nurses may be considered if they have the appropriate hospital experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in patient conditions.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols.

• Monitor vital signs, assess patient responses, and promptly report clinical changes.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic.

• Follow infection prevention protocols and patient safety standards.

• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

• Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled.

• Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for the facility's state.

• Relevant hospital-based Medical-Surgical nursing experience.

• Epic charting experience required.

• Availability for night shifts, every other weekend, and on-call coverage.

• Ability to manage a patient assignment with an expected 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Med Ninjas Job ID #20969. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
