Sheet Metal Worker (TIG / Stick – Orbital Work)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Status: Full-time

Housing & Transportation

• Private room: $200/week
• Shared housing: $130/week
  • Fully equipped houses, organized living arrangements
• Transportation: $40/week
  • Daily transportation to and from work
  • Transportation back home
  • 1–2 trips per week to grocery stores

About the Role

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will perform industrial welding and fabrication using TIG and Stick processes , including 6010 root pass and 7018 fill/cap , as well as orbital welding work . This position requires solid welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and Stick welding according to job specifications
• Run 6010 root passes and 7018 fill and cap welds
• Work with orbital welding systems
• Read and interpret blueprints and weld procedures
• Prepare and fit materials before welding
• Inspect welds to ensure quality and compliance
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience with TIG and Stick welding
• Experience running 6010 (root) and 7018 (fill/cap)
• Orbital welding experience preferred
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions
• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working in industrial environments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods
• Lift and move heavy materials
• Work in multiple positions (kneeling, bending, overhead)
• Work in heat, cold, or confined spaces

Work Environment

• Industrial setting
• Exposure to heat, sparks, and heavy equipment
• PPE required at all times
