Physical Therapist (PT) - Outpatient

Department: 37601 AMC Manitowoc County - Outpatient Rehabilitation Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Fulltime Outpatient Physical Therapist - $20,000 dollar sign on bonus. Mainly outpatient Ortho, specialties encouraged and welcomed. Comprehensive mentoring for newly graduated therapist. Clinic hours of operation: Monday through Friday 7:30 - 6:00. This position will cover 4-5 Acute Care Hospital weekends or holidays a year. Pay Range: $41.10 - $61.65 Education / Experience: B.S., M.S., or D.P.T degree from accredited physical therapy school. Previous hospital experience preferred. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current licensure in the applicable state and CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C. Essential Functions Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures, contributes to overall quality of services, and stays informed about policy changes. Provides patient care assessment and treatment. Ensures patient evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional, and aligned with the Standard of Practice. Uses sound professional judgment to interpret evaluation results, establish treatment plans with realistic goals, encourage patients and significant others, recognize changes in physiological state, and recommend next level of care. Ensures quality patient outcomes and supervises support staff providing direction and feedback. Maintains accurate documentation. Completes written patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy. Documents patient/family education, charges, departmental statistics, and ICD‑10 codes as appropriate. Keeps records in systematic order. Ensures that documentation is legible. Meets department financial and productivity standards. Understands budgeted expectations, maintains productivity, and adjusts schedules to meet patient and department needs. Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services. Identifies opportunities for quality and operational improvement, communicates progress, and researches evidence‑based best practices. Promotes professional development and education of other health care workers, provides representation on committees, conducts in‑service training, understands changes in the profession locally, at the state and nationally, and shares clinical expertise with other therapists, students, and professionals. Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers. Responds to questions, promotes open communication, shares information from seminars, informs supervisors of issues, and ensures patient and family understanding. Provides appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines. Demonstrates age‑specific knowledge and skills, uses developmental data in assessment, interprets responses accurately, and maintains competence by regularly updating knowledge of growth, development, and aging. Skills / Qualifications Able to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers and provide quality care for patients. Able to communicate with patients of all age groups and significant others at the appropriate level of comprehension. Has knowledge, clinical skills, and understanding of the patient throughout the entire span of life. Work Environment Subject to stress conditions. Moderate noise environment. Exposure to cleaning chemicals. Occasionally handles emergency or crisis situations. Requires personal protective equipment: eye protection, face protection, gown, mask, lab coat, sterile and non‑sterile gloves, shoe covers.
