Tax Transactions/Planning Associate (2-5 yrs) - Am Law 100 Firm (Chicago)

About the Position:

Our client, a global Am Law firm with Chicago roots, has an active need for a tax planning attorney to join its Chambers-ranked practice as an associate in Chicago. This practice provides sophisticated, business-focused tax counsel on complex transactions, including M&A, private equity and investment structures, financings, restructurings, joint ventures, and real estate transactions. The team works at the intersection of tax, deal strategy, and transaction economics to develop structures that minimize tax exposure, preserve valuable tax attributes, and maximize clients’ after-tax returns.

Responsibilities:

· Handle a range of transactional tax matters, including M&A, finance/structured finance, real estate investments, and inbound and outbound investments

· Advise domestic and international clients across an array of industries in developing tax planning strategies

Required Qualifications:

· 2-5 years of tax law experience, with a focus on tax planning and transactions

· Experience from a large law firm or an accounting firm

· Excellent writing skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Location:

Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $235,000 - $365,000.
