Passionate about supporting students’ growth in a school environment? This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while working as a Paraeducator in a vibrant elementary setting. Three full-time positions are available, including two classroom aide roles within a Special Day Class (serving grades TK–6), and one dedicated 1:1 role, providing support to an elementary student. Assignments will continue through the end of the 2026-2027 school year.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working as a Paraprofessional or classroom aide, ideally supporting young children or students with special needs.
- Previous experience providing toileting support or personal care assistance, or a willingness to learn these skills.
- A caring, patient, and adaptable demeanor, able to respond to students’ needs in a supportive and nurturing manner.
- Commitment to working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and school staff.
- Strong communication skills for fostering positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Ability to reliably work full-time hours (30 hours per week) for the contracted dates.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support special education students in a classroom or 1:1 setting, assisting with learning activities and daily routines.
- Collaborate with teachers to promote student engagement and participation.
- Provide hands-on support, including toileting or personal care, as needed.
- Foster an encouraging classroom environment, helping students achieve social, academic, and behavioral goals.
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries at all times.
