Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in an inpatient rehabilitation department. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with patients requiring specialized care for rehabilitation needs, including those recovering from strokes, aneurysms, post-operative surgical procedures, and other neurological diagnoses.

Schedule

• Shift: 3x12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every third weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required between multiple locations within the region if needed

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care rehab to patients with various neurological conditions, including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, and generalized debility.
• Perform medication reconciliation and interpret laboratory results.
• Conduct patient assessments, including health history and allergy evaluations, as well as vital sign monitoring (blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse).
• Administer dressing changes and set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays.
• Manage specimen collection including capillary, urine (UA clean catch), and phlebotomy with appropriate labeling.
• Handle telephone triage and pharmacy calls for patient refill requests.

Patient Ratios

The standard patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6, with a rotating unit that may require a nurse to care for up to 7 patients of equal acuity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
• Prior experience in acute care rehabilitation is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records system is advantageous.
