Testing Assistant II (2nd Shift)
Location: Lowell, AR 72745 Pay rate: $17.00 - $18.00/hr Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (37.5 regular hours/week; must train on 1st shift initially; Assignment Dates: 09/07/2026 – 12/31/2026)
Overview The Assistant works alongside senior laboratory staff and engineers to process samples, execute performance tests, and record/analyze test results. Utilizing specialized measuring instruments and general lab equipment, this 2nd shift role builds test setups, interprets technical schematics, inputs data into lab information systems, and communicates test outcomes while maintaining UL Code of Conduct and security standards.
Job Specifications
- Process lab samples, perform designated tests using general laboratory equipment, and adapt basic setup equipment following test plans/datasheets
- Read measuring instruments, examine test samples, and record observed or calculated data accurately on data sheets
- Operate computer terminals to input/extract information and utilize laboratory information systems and software
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions
- Prepare charts, graphs, and summary reports to explain and review test results with supervisors and engineers
- Perform routine maintenance and care of designated test equipment and laboratory work areas
- Communicate with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper sample evaluation
- Integrate continuous improvement concepts into daily laboratory methods, instrumentation, and workflows
- Comply strictly with physical/digital security practices and the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Code of Conduct
- Good working understanding of laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems required
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical datasheets required
