3rd Shift Laboratory Technician - $21.75/hr

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is currently hiring a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician for a manufacturing facility in Beech Grove, IN.

Pay: $21.75 per hour

Location: Beech Grove, IN

Schedule: 3rd Shift
Monday-Friday, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM

Weekend Overtime:
Saturday and/or Sunday, 11:00 AM-7:00 PM, as needed. Weekend hours and scheduling may change depending on staffing and operational needs.

IMPORTANT SCHEDULE REQUIREMENT:
This is a 3rd-shift position. Candidates should be specifically seeking a long-term overnight schedule and must be comfortable consistently working 11:00 PM-7:00 AM. This position is best suited for someone who prefers third shift rather than someone temporarily accepting nights while waiting for a first- or second-shift opportunity.

About the Position:

The Laboratory Technician will perform laboratory testing and quality-control functions within a manufacturing/plant environment. This position is responsible for preparing and testing process and finished-product samples, documenting results, monitoring production processes, maintaining laboratory equipment, and communicating quality concerns to operations.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented and has previous laboratory testing experience, preferably within a manufacturing, warehouse, production, or plant environment.

Job Duties:

• Prepare process and finished-product samples for laboratory testing
• Perform analytical testing using laboratory instruments and wet chemistry procedures
• Record testing results using computerized data systems
• Perform daily process-monitoring tests throughout the plant as assigned
• Maintain samples of tested products when necessary to confirm test results
• Accurately document the results of all testing procedures
• Promptly communicate test results and required adjustments to operations
• Enter and report laboratory data using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Develop an understanding of production processes and product-quality requirements
• Communicate with operators regarding adjustments that may be needed to achieve product-quality standards
• Perform light maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment
• Maintain ongoing records of testing procedures and enter data into computer systems daily
• Monitor laboratory testing supplies and notify supervision when supplies need to be reordered
• Compare equipment readings with established standards to ensure systems and instruments are operating accurately
• Clean laboratory equipment and maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area
• Properly return equipment to designated storage areas
• Maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and operations personnel
• Perform all duties safely and use required safety equipment
• Successfully complete required safety certifications and training
• Follow applicable FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, safety, quality, and employer standards and guidelines
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Education & Training Preferred:

• Associate degree, 2-year science degree, or 2+ years of education in a science-related field preferred
• Relevant laboratory training or experience may also be considered

Preferred Experience:

• Previous laboratory testing experience
• Laboratory experience within a manufacturing, warehouse, production, or plant environment strongly preferred
• Previous plant experience
• Experience with laboratory documentation and accurate record keeping
• Experience operating standard laboratory equipment, including:
  • pH meters
  • Balances
  • Spectrophotometers
• Experience using computerized laboratory instrument programs
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience entering and maintaining laboratory data
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations associated with laboratory testing
• Strong attendance history
• Excellent safety record and safety awareness

11:00 PM-7:00 AM

Candidates must also have flexibility for weekend overtime. Weekend overtime may include Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM-7:00 PM and may change depending on staffing and operational needs.
