Court Services Supervisor 1 - Criminal Division

Position Overview The New Jersey Judiciary – Essex Vicinage is seeking a detailed oriented professional to work as a Court Services Supervisor 1 in the Criminal Division. The supervisor reports to the Criminal Division Manager and Assistant Criminal Division Manager. Responsibilities include answering public inquiries, assigning workload, evaluating staff performance, coordinating unit activities, developing team goals, mentoring staff, mediating conflicts, overseeing operating procedures, planning work, preparing reports, recommending procedures, managing workflow, scheduling staff, and performing other necessary duties. Salary The salary range for this position is $67,236.14 to $109,298.70 for Schedule A, and $67,236.14 to $103,833.79 for Schedule B. Newly hired individuals start at the minimum of the range. Current employees receive a 5% increase on promotion, not exceeding the maximum of the range. Remote Work The position offers a hybrid schedule, enabling up to 2 days of remote work. Responsibilities The supervisor will: answer public questions, assign workload, conduct performance evaluations, coordinate activities, develop goals, instruct staff, lead case management teams, mediate conflicts, mentor and coach, provide direction and feedback, oversee implementation of procedures, plan and prioritize work, prepare technical, statistical, financial, review, and evaluation reports, recommend procedural improvements, regulate workflow, schedule staff hours and vacation, and perform other necessary duties. Requirements Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree and three years of paraprofessional/professional experience, including at least one year in case management, enforcement of court orders, or supervision of offenders. Must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license if vehicle operation is essential. Must be authorized to work in the United States per Department of Homeland Security regulations. Must agree to a thorough background check including fingerprinting. Must establish and maintain a principal residence in New Jersey within one year of hire. Qualifications Experience in case management, enforcement of court orders, or supervision of offenders. Recognized education evaluation for degrees conferred outside the United States. ( Ability to work evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and/or holidays if required. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is essential.
