Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of NICU patients, delivering competent and compassionate nursing care across a range of simple to complex health conditions
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary
• Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at time of discharge; informs patients and families of hospital procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current Oklahoma RN license or current multistate compact RN license
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• NRP certification (American Heart Association)
• Proficiency in professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills with the ability to evaluate nursing services
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
