Job Summary

Frantz Law Group, APLC, is seeking a skilled and motivated Personal Injury Attorney to join our litigation team in San Diego, California. Our firm is committed to representing individuals and families who have suffered serious injuries and damages.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling personal injury litigation, evaluating liability and damages, developing case strategies, conducting discovery, and negotiating settlements. The successful candidate will possess excellent legal writing and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage cases efficiently from inception through resolution.

Experience handling complex personal injury matters and litigating in federal court is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage personal injury cases from initial evaluation through settlement or trial.
• Evaluate liability, causation, damages, insurance coverage, and potential case value.
• Review and analyze medical records, accident reports, witness statements, expert opinions, and other evidence.
• Develop case strategies to maximize client recovery and achieve favorable outcomes.
• Draft and review complaints, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement demands, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial.
• Handle written discovery, document production, and other litigation-related activities.
• Research applicable statutes, case law, and procedural requirements using Westlaw and other legal research tools.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel and insurance representatives to resolve cases when appropriate.
• Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, evidentiary analysis, trial briefs, and other trial-related materials.
• Maintain compliance with court deadlines, filing requirements, and applicable procedural rules.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding case progress, legal strategy, and settlement options.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Experience handling personal injury matters and civil litigation.
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure, discovery, and litigation practices.
• Experience with depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Ability to evaluate liability, causation, damages, and settlement value.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Proficiency with Westlaw and legal case management systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach to legal representation.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced litigation environment.
• Federal court experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-office position at our San Diego, California, office. Remote or hybrid work is not offered for this position.
