Senior Trip Leader Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Trip Leader for the Recreation department. The Senior Trip Leader will design and lead both on‑campus engagements and off‑campus trips ranging from day to week‑long expeditions while ensuring the safety and well‑being of participants in remote locations. Responsibilities Design on‑campus and off‑campus travel programs, including day trips and week‑long expeditions. Ensures the physical and emotional well‑being of trip participants throughout the duration of the trips. Teaches fundamentals of outdoor interaction and the proper use of specialized equipment. Provides transportation using university vehicles and trailers for trip‑specific gear. Mentors and supervises field staff on and off campus. Qualifications High‑school or vocational education, or equivalent experience. Wilderness First Responder certification. CPR/AED certification. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications At least two years of experience in outdoor or comparable field activities. Certifications as American Canoe Association Instructor or American Red Cross CPR Instructor (preferred). Ability to teach courses and report them under the regulations of the certifying organization. Physical Demands and Special Conditions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Safe driving record required. Salary and Working Hours Hourly rate: $18‑$20. Working hours: 19.5 per week, part‑time. Position is non‑exempt hourly. Benefits Medical, prescription drug, and dental coverage.
