Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift hospital position requiring RRT certification and 1+ years of recent experience.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy / Neuro Diagnostics unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation required, typically no more than every other weekend
• On-call requirements may apply, up to 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule with on-call hours limited to 4PM-8PM on night shift
• Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to units where competencies have been demonstrated
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active RRT certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• State license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, IMV, and SIMV
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and ECMO

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to adult critical care and emergency department patients
• Administer medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and suctioning procedures
• Participate in patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
• Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Orientation held weekly on Mondays with annual compliance requirements
• RTO should be limited and holidays are not guaranteed
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Radius requirements apply based on specialty and shift; RRT night shift travelers must be 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
