This structure balances full-time hours with more personal time, supporting both productivity and work-life balance.Job Purpose:Technical Lead, Engine Application Development will be responsible for providing technical leadership across the various activities with a focus on implementation of 3D woven composites in engine applications. This multi-faceted role will assist technical, team and production facilities leads with following and identifying best practices in design, analysis and fabrication phases; working with business development and program managers to align proposals with R&T core competencies; and collecting and prioritizing technical needs for further development as IR&T initiatives. The person in this role is expected improve technical competencies by functioning as an individual contributor. Lead application development for diversified opportunities inclusive of concept development, structural analysis, performance evaluation and fabrication of composite parts and assemblies.Lead the identification and execution of research and technology development activities which will increase the differentiating value of 3D woven composites and increase the application opportunities while providing increased benefits to our customers.Provide support for bids, proposals, and business development activitiesContinue collaborative activities with existing customersDriving the prioritization of activities within the R&T organizationDevelop strategic planning and technology road mapping for areas of responsibility.Support monthly and annual financial planning/management of the R&T organization relative to engine-related projectsCustomer funded developmentInternally funded developmentCapEx planning and executionStay abreast of industry trends in technology development and best practices, and participate in relevant industry eventsMaintain the focal for communication externally and internally for all engine-related activities within the R&T organization, including coordination with production facilitiesDrive new technology advancements into production programsSupervisory Responsibility: NoJob RequirementsQualifications/Characteristics:Knowledge/ Experience:BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Textiles Engineering, Materials Science; equivalent experience may be considered.10+ year experience using numerical design/ simulation software tools in a Research & Development or academic research setting.Technical leadership experience is considered a strong plus.Skills:Demonstrated knowledge of composite component design, material testing and performance modeling and ability to integrate 3D woven solutions through trades and supporting application developmentDemonstrated knowledge of textiles preforming / RTM fabrication processes and ability to develop appropriate weaving models based on the underlying physical principlesDemonstrated knowledge of complex composite component design geometry.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for polymer matrix composites.Advanced computer proficiency level using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skillsAbilities:Demonstrated problem-solving skills within collaborative, team-based environmentsAbility to assess complex technical landscapes and extract key insights and guiding principlesWillingness to learn new concepts, tools, and technologiesWillingness to engage in hands-on work in a dynamic environmentStrong action orientation with a results-driven mindset, sound decision-making abilities, and a focus on customer successHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to qualityWorking Conditions:Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures.
