Job Summary
We’re looking to hire a hard-working Custodian who can maintain the cleanliness and safety of our buildings along various locations/shops in Philadelphia, PA. You’ll be responsible for all cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing restrooms with soapy disinfecting water.  Sanitize/Disinfect all required areas with supplies provided, in addition to emptying trash, replacing liners, spot cleaning of rubber mats/ runners, and throw carpets must be washed so they are free of dirt and stains. Removal of gum from floors, platforms, stairs and passageways. Damp wipe all handrails, signs, offices, ceilings, elevators, emergency exits, window ledges, fare machines, telephones, window sills, benches, desks, lockers, cabinets, seats, etc. specified in the specifications of the job. The ideal candidate has a great work ethic, experience with cleaning equipment and supplies, and takes pride in a job well done.

Responsibilities 

• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the building
• Vacuum carpets, mop floors, scrub restrooms, dust furniture, and empty trash cans daily
• Clean windows, shampoo carpets, replace light bulbs, supply restrooms, and perform minor repairs on a regular basis
• Wipe up spills and other hazards with sponges and squeegees
• Ensure that all service records are filled out daily and signed and submitted to office on a weekly basis via fax or photos. (All hard copies are to be submitted either in person to office or faxed for the Month services).
• Secure the building by locking doors once cleaning is complete
• Write reports of areas cleaned and notify the manager of major repairs

Qualifications

• Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in janitorial services
• Must reside in the area of Philadelphia, PA
• Active Driver’s license with a reliable transportation to and from the worksite. (You will be responsible for your own gas).
• Experience with a variety of cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment and OSHA knowledgeable and compliant.
• Excellent stamina 
• Must be a hard worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethic!
