Senior Personal Injury Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Senior Personal Injury Attorney in Liberty, MO. The ideal candidate will independently manage personal injury cases, providing legal judgment and direction. They will work with a supportive team, including paralegals and administrative staff, to ensure cases progress efficiently and strategically. Duties Take primary responsibility for legal strategy and direction of personal injury cases. Independently manage litigation from filing through resolution or trial. Take and defend depositions, including fact, expert, and corporate representative. Develop case themes, theories, and trial strategy. Draft, review, and argue substantive motions. Handle court appearances, conferences, mediations, and hearings. Prepare for and conduct jury trials. Evaluate liability, damages, case value, and settlement strategy. Negotiate with defense counsel and insurance carriers. Review and provide direction on discovery, pleadings, and demands. Oversee and provide guidance to paralegals and support staff. Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments and strategy. Requirements An active Missouri law license in good standing. Significant litigation experience, preferably in personal injury matters. Meaningful deposition experience. Experience handling hearings, motions, mediations, and other litigation proceedings. Trial experience or substantial responsibility preparing cases for jury trial. Strong legal judgment and ability to develop and execute litigation strategy independently. Ability to oversee and provide direction to paralegals and legal support staff. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active matters. Kansas licensure is a plus. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Active Missouri law license. Skills Strong legal judgment and strategic decision-making.
