This role involves physically demanding general labor work in a busy manufacturing environment producing metal automotive parts. You will load parts into machines, support automated robots in unloading and stacking, and perform basic quality checks to ensure parts are correctly labeled and sorted. The work is repetitive, fast-paced, and highly physical, requiring frequent lifting of medium-weight parts throughout each shift.

Responsibilities

• Load metal automotive parts into machines, ensuring each part is properly positioned and securely clamped.
• Support automated robots by monitoring the unloading and stacking of parts and intervening when necessary.
• Perform routine quality checks on finished parts to ensure they meet required standards.
• Place parts into the correct bins according to part numbers and labels, maintaining accurate organization and identification.
• Lift and handle parts weighing approximately 20–45 lbs every 2–3 minutes throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area to support safe and efficient operations.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around metal machining equipment.
• Adapt to a very physical workload and remain on task in a loud, busy manufacturing setting.
• Work frequent Saturday shifts and occasional Sunday shifts as required by production demands.

• Previous and recent experience performing physically demanding work that involves frequent lifting of 25–40 lbs.
• Ability to repeatedly lift and move parts weighing 20–45 lbs every few minutes over the course of a shift.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with metal machining, including exposure to noise and busy production lines.
• Experience in roles such as construction, farming, landscaping, or similar physically intensive work.
• Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures for machine loading and part handling.
• Attention to detail when performing quality checks and sorting parts by part number and labeling.
• Reliability and willingness to work frequent Saturday shifts and occasional Sunday shifts as needed.

• Background in manufacturing, assembly, parts washing, or machine operation.
• Experience working with metal parts or in metal machining environments.
• Familiarity with basic quality inspection processes in a production setting.
• Ability to thrive in repetitive, fast-paced, and physically intensive roles.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility focused on metal machining and automotive parts production. The environment is loud and busy, with machines and robots operating continuously. Work areas are well lit, and tasks involve lifting parts from waist height and knee height up to waist height and placing them onto designated surfaces or into bins. The role is highly physical, requiring frequent lifting of 20–45 lb parts every 2–3 minutes. Multiple shifts are available, including days (8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.), afternoons (4:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m.), and midnights (12:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m.), with a strong expectation of working many Saturdays and occasional Sundays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Huron, MI.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Port Huron,MI.
