divh2Store Clerk/Cashier - Shop-EZ/h2pThe full-time or part-time Cashier position at the Shop-EZ store (South Yankton location) is a valuable team member of the store operation and is responsible for performing various operational store functions. The cashier is responsible for the checkout procedures at the store and assisting the customer and supporting efficient store operations./ppDuties and Responsibilities/pulliProcessing sales transactions/liliCalculating and returning change for cash transactions/liliMaintaining adequate change denominations and requesting additional change/liliAnswering customer questions about products or services and providing recommendations based on customer needs./liliCross-selling and upselling products/liliReconciling cash drawers and sales receipts/liliReporting issues with equipment/liliCollaborating with the team to meet store sales goals./liliResponding to and resolving customer complaints and concerns/liliProcessing returns and exchanges./liliMaintaining clean and tidy checkout and merchandise areas, mopping the floor, cleaning the restrooms, emptying the trash cans, and performing other cleaning activities./liliAssisting in stocking and rotating merchandise./liliScanning and bagging items accurately and efficiently/liliStaying up to date on merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information./liliAll other duties as assigned./li/ulpRequired Qualifications and Education/pulliMinimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent./liliComputer literacy and experience in using point-of-sale systems./liliExcellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders./liliPossess basic mathematical skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment./liliExcellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records./liliProblem-solving and analytical skills to navigate complex payment discrepancies./liliExceptional organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously./liliProvide the highest level of integrity to maintain and safeguard employer confidentiality./liliA solid understanding of industry regulations and compliance./li/ulpOther Desired Qualifications/pulliAn associate degree in business administration or related fields./liliA general understanding of and practicing emotional intelligence in the workplace./li/ulpPerformance Factors/ppAttendance and Dependability: The employee has reliable transportation to work and can be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work.
