The position requires experience supporting data engineering, data architecture, and ETL workflows within a mission-driven environment.Program Overview The program supports a government agency's efforts to modernize data infrastructure and enable data-driven decision-making.Key Details Location: Remote Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determinationResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver structured and unstructured data from multiple cloud-based sourcesBuild and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses, to support large-scale analytics, reporting, and business intelligenceDevelop and maintain scalable data stores to facilitate analysis and downstream applicationsWrite SQL and Python to retrieve, parse, transform, and process data, ensuring data quality and integrityPerform backend SQL and NoSQL testing, including validation, troubleshooting, and schema reviewMonitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliable data ingestion and transformationDevelop scripts and automation to standardize diverse datasets into analysis-ready formatsCollaborate with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical data models and workflowsSupport the deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of cloud data platformsLeverage modern development practices and AI-assisted coding tools to enhance workflowsRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience in data warehouse development3+ years of experience analyzing and integrating data within cloud-based environments2+ years of experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores supporting big data analyticsHands-on experience using SQL and Python for data processing and transformationExperience designing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT workflows using cloud technologiesFamiliarity with Cloudera, Hadoop, or related big data technologiesKnowledge of cloud-based data architectures, storage, and pipelinesExperience with AI-assisted coding tools supporting developmentAbility to perform backend SQL and NoSQL database testing and validationStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fieldAbility to obtain and sustain a Public Trust suitability determinationPreferred QualificationsExperience working within cross-functional engineering teamsFamiliarity with AWS data services such as AWS Glue, AWS Athena, and PostgreSQLKnowledge of distributed data processing technologies such as Spark, Databricks, Hive, AWS EMR, or KafkaExperience developing real-time data pipelines and streaming applicationsWorking knowledge of NoSQL solutions like MongoDB or CassandraExperience with data warehouse platforms such as AWS Redshift, MySQL, or SnowflakeUNIX/Linux command-line and shell scripting proficiencyFamiliarity with Agile development practicesCompensation Salary Range: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00Company Overview Blu Omega is a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) delivering technology and cybersecurity solutions to federal agencies and enterprise clients nationwide.
