Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex environmental planning projects from inception through to completion. This role will suit an experienced professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with project leadership, stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to provide practical, high-quality advice and support sustainable outcomes for clients, communities and the environment.


Your responsibilities will include managing environmental planning projects, preparing and reviewing environmental assessments, planning reports, impact assessments and supporting documentation, and coordinating inputs from technical specialists. You will guide projects through relevant planning and approval processes, interpret environmental legislation and policy, identify risks and opportunities, and develop effective mitigation and management strategies. The role will also involve preparing proposals and fee estimates, monitoring budgets and programmes, maintaining project records, and ensuring deliverables meet quality, regulatory and client requirements.


You will build and maintain productive relationships with clients, regulators, community representatives, consultants and internal stakeholders, while confidently presenting technical information to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in environmental planning, impact assessment, approvals or a related discipline, together with demonstrated project management experience. A relevant tertiary qualification and strong knowledge of applicable environmental and planning legislation are required. You will be an organised and analytical problem-solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a collaborative approach to leading teams and delivering results. Experience across infrastructure, development, energy, natural resources or similar projects will be highly regarded.
