About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Must have cardiac Progressive Care Unit experience. Must be comfortable with 1:5 patient ratios. Previous charge RN experience preferred. Description: This is a night shift position requiring three 12-hour shifts. Weekend rotation and holiday coverage may be required. Staff will be scheduled for a six-week period based on departmental needs. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 with drips/BiPAP, otherwise mostly 1:5. Unit focuses on cardiac patients, including congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias. Secondary focus includes respiratory issues such as COPD and pneumonia. Procedures include pre/post cardiac catheterization management. Nurse responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring. Nurses will manage cardiac drips and vasoactive drips without titration. Support staff, including nurse assistants and an RN secretary, are available. This department is a 30-bed facility providing care 24/7. Rooms are remotely monitored for patient safety.
