Nola Brunch & Beignets in San Antonio, TX is looking for one experienced expediter (expo 1) to join our 56 person strong team. We are located on 1101 Broadway Ste 120. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Expediter (Expo) with a minimum of two years of expo or kitchen coordination experience. The Expo serves as the critical link between the Back of House and Front of House teams, ensuring that every dish is executed with accuracy, consistency, and exceptional presentation. This role requires strong leadership, advanced food knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a fast-paced service environment with confidence and professionalism. The ideal candidate is proactive, quality-focused, and thrives under pressure while maintaining high standards of hospitality and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Coordinate Ticket Flow Manage and organize incoming tickets with precision and urgency. Ensure proper pacing and timing of orders to support seamless service. Prioritize and adjust workflow based on service volume and guest needs. Anticipate potential bottlenecks and communicate solutions proactively. Quality Control Perform final inspections of all dishes before they leave the kitchen. Verify plate presentation, accuracy, portion sizes, and adherence to recipe standards. Taste-test menu items as needed to ensure consistency and quality. Maintain accountability for food quality during every shift. Lead Communication Between Teams Serve as the primary point of communication between the kitchen and service staff. Clearly relay modifications, special requests, wait times, and service priorities. Support team alignment by ensuring information is communicated accurately and efficiently. Assist in training newer team members on expo procedures and menu knowledge. Maintain Expo Station Excellence Keep the expo line clean, organized, stocked, and operating efficiently throughout service. Ensure all necessary garnishes, plateware, utensils, and service tools are readily available. Uphold food safety, sanitation, and workplace standards at all times. Thrive in High-Volume Service Maintain composure, professionalism, and attention to detail during peak business periods. Manage multiple priorities while supporting overall kitchen efficiency. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment even during high-pressure situations. Support Operational Success Coordinate food runners and ensure timely delivery of completed orders. Coach service staff on menu items, ingredients, and dish presentations. Help maintain consistency in guest experience through strong execution and communication. Qualifications Required Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Expediter, Lead Expo, or similar kitchen coordination role. Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and kitchen workflow. Thorough understanding of food quality standards, presentation expectations, and food safety practices. Ability to taste and evaluate a variety of foods for quality and consistency. Must not have dietary restrictions that prevent tasting menu items as required for quality control. Excellent verbal communication and leadership skills. Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Availability Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
