HR Specialist

An established and growing organization is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support a multi-state workforce of over 500 employees. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment and has experience supporting HR operations, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and payroll administration. Responsibilities Support the implementation and administration of HR programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with OSHA compliance and workplace safety initiatives. Support employee relations matters, including coaching, performance improvement plans, and staff communications. Maintain employee records and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance. Assist with Workers' Compensation, unemployment, disability, and leave administration. Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes. Support full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, background checks, and pre-employment screenings. Assist with government reporting requirements such as EEO and California Pay Data reporting. Help develop and maintain HR training materials and programs. Support semi-monthly payroll processing and related administrative functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 3-5+ years of Human Resources experience supporting at least 100 California employees. Working knowledge of California labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices. Experience with employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and HR administration. Familiarity with payroll processes and HRIS systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills preferred.
