Make a difference for students with dyslexia by providing high-quality virtual instruction as a Special Education Teacher specializing in dyslexia interventions. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about helping learners overcome reading challenges. The role focuses on teaching a homebound student through engaging and structured online sessions using the MTA (Multisensory Teaching Approach) program.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching credential appropriate for Special Education.
- Demonstrated expertise in dyslexia instruction with a strong knowledge of the MTA program.
- Completion of formal MTA training (mandatory for consideration).
- Previous experience providing virtual instruction to students, ideally in a special education or dyslexia-focused setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to create a supportive, structured online learning environment.
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable with technology platforms for remote learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver virtual dyslexia instruction using the MTA curriculum in compliance with best practices and student learning needs.
- Conduct sessions 4 times per week, 45 minutes each, within the specified windows (11:30–12:30 Monday–Friday, 9:00–10:00 Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), totaling approximately 5 hours per week.
- Tailor instruction to meet the student’s individual goals and monitor progress.
- Communicate and collaborate with caregivers and any related service teams regarding student progress and recommendations.
- Maintain effective digital records and documentation as required.
