Registered Nurses provide medical and psychiatric support where it makes the most impact in a person's community. Working as a Registered Nurse for Thresholds provides an opportunity for work/life balance while meeting the needs of clients who experience mental illness and oftentimes lack access to adequate health care.

Through care planning, assessment, and implementation, you will be an integral part of a client's growth and recovery. You will work closely with clinical teams including consulting psychiatrists and medical doctors. Part of your role with the clinical team will be providing health education and training on topics relevant to the clients' overall wellbeing.

The Thresholds Homeless Outreach Program (HOP) was established in 1989 to provide assertive outreach, linkage to primary and psychiatric care, and resource referral to people experiencing homelessness along with serious mental illnesses. We are Chicago's only citywide mental health homeless outreach program, and our primary goal is simple: to get people living with mental illnesses into stable housing and help them recover and regain their lives. We believe it is not enough to simply be available to the people who need our services we need to bring our services to them.

Homeless Outreach Workers are out in the community in all weather and conditions, which takes commitment and grit. MON-FRI 8:30AM-5:00PM

MON-FRI 4:00PM-12:30AM

To succeed in this role, you need:

• Passion for mental health advocacy
• Desire to provide compassionate care
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills
• Good writing skills
• Strong time management and organization
• A valid driver's license, current car insurance, and daily access to your own car
• Willingness to provide transportation to clients

Education and experience required for this role:

• Registered Nurse license
• Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited school of Nursing.
