SeniorUX/ProductDesignConsultant—Project-Based ProjectOverview CISolutionsisseekinganexperiencedSeniorUX/ProductDesignConsultanttoevaluateandimprovetheusabilityofanexistingsoftwareproduct. Thegoalofthisengagementisnotsimplyavisualredesign.Wearelookingforsomeonewhocanunderstandhowcustomersusetheproducttoday,identifyusabilityproblemsandunnecessarycomplexity,andredesignkeyworkflowssotheapplicationiseasiertolearn,navigate,andoperate. Theconsultantwillworkwithproduct,development,support,andotherinternalstakeholdersand,whereappropriate,observeorinterviewactualusers. ScopeofWork Theconsultantwill: Reviewtheexistingapplication,workflows,navigation,terminology,andinterface. Meetwithinternalstakeholderstounderstandcommoncustomerissues,supportchallenges,andbusinessrequirements. Conductuserinterviewsand/orusabilitysessionswithrepresentativeusers. Identifyusabilityproblems,confusingworkflows,unnecessarysteps,and opportunitiesforsimplification. Prioritizefindingsbasedonuserimpactandimplementationeffort. Developimprovedinformationarchitectureanduserflows. Createwireframesandinteractiveprototypesforpriorityworkflows. Developamodern,consistentUX/UIdirectionthatcanbeextendedthroughouttheproduct. Validateproposeddesignsthroughusabilitytestingandstakeholderreview. Workwiththedevelopmentteamtoensurerecommendationsarepracticaltoimplement. RequiredDeliverable Atthecompletionoftheproject,CISolutionsshouldreceivea UXModernizationPackage containing: 1. Current-StateUXAudit oKeyusabilityfindings oUserpainpoints oWorkflowandnavigationissuesoPrioritizedrecommendations 2. ImprovedUserExperienceArchitecture oRecommendednavigation/informationarchitecture oRedesigneduserflowsforagreed-uponpriorityworkflowsoRecommendationsforsimplifyingcomplexprocesses 3. InteractiveUX/UIPrototype oHigh-fidelitydesignsfortheagreed-uponpriorityareas oClickableprototypedemonstratingtheredesignedexperience oResponsive/accessibilityconsiderationswhereapplicable 4. ReusableDesignSystem oCorecomponentsandinteractionpatterns oTypography,spacing,forms,buttons,dialogs,tables,notifications,and othercommoninterfaceelements oGuidancethatallowsthedevelopmentteamtoextendthenewexperienceconsistently 5. UsabilityValidation oTestingoftheproposedexperiencewithrepresentativeusersoSummaryoffindings oDesignrevisionsbasedontesting 6. ImplementationRoadmap&DeveloperHandoff oPrioritizedrecommendationsforimplementation oIdentificationofquickwinsversuslargerchanges oFinaldesignfiles,specifications,andassets oWalkthrough/handoffsessionwiththedevelopmentteam DefinitionofSuccess TheprojectwillbeconsideredsuccessfulwhenCISolutionshas: Adocumentedunderstandingofthemajorusabilityproblemsintheexistingproduct. Avalidatedredesignofthehighest-priorityuserworkflows. AconsistentUX/UIframeworkthatcanbeappliedthroughouttheapplication. Designsandspecificationssufficientlydetailedforthedevelopmentteamtobeginimplementation. Aprioritizedroadmapforimprovingareasoftheproductnotredesignedduringtheinitialengagment IdealConsultant Wearelookingforsomeonewith: 7+yearsofUX,productdesign,orequivalentexperience. ExperienceredesigningestablishedB2B,SaaS,enterprise,oroperationalsoftware. StrongUXresearchandusability-testingskills. Experiencesimplifyingcomplexworkflowsratherthanonlyimprovingvisual appearance. Stronginteractionandinformation-architectureskills. ProficiencywithFigmaorcomparabledesign/prototypingtools. Experiencecreatingscalabledesignsystems. Abilitytocommunicatedirectlywithusers,developers,productstakeholders,andexecutives. Aportfoliodemonstratingmeasurableusabilityimprovementstoexistingproducts. Experiencewithadministrativesoftware,identity/badgesystems,printingworkflows,educationtechnology,orotherworkflow-heavyapplicationsisaplus. ProposalRequirements Candidatesshouldprovide: Relevantportfolioexamples,particularlyredesignsofexistingsoftware. Proposedapproachandprojectphases. Estimatedtimeline. Estimatedhoursorprojectfee.
