As a Cook at Eagle Ridge Academy, you will play a vital role in preparing and delivering high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and taste expectations of our community. You will contribute to a positive dining experience by maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen while managing multiple food preparation tasks simultaneously. Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menu specifications, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and sanitation of work areas.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate meal preparation and timely service during peak hours.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and coordinate with team members.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices.
• Capability to follow recipes and food production guidelines accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal culinary training or certification from an accredited institution.
• Experience working in an educational or institutional food service setting.
• Familiarity with menu planning and nutritional guidelines.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management and kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends if required.

• 2 years previous experience in a school food service setting preferred
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Able to follow supervisors direction and lead a small team
• Strong communication skills with employees and client
• Able to follow spoken and written directions
• Ability to prioritize, plan and use time efficiently
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality when dealing with student, staff, and/or parent information
• ServSafe Certificate preferred
