Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Foreman with union experience to lead and coordinate field crew activities on construction projects. This position involves working closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and union requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily work activities of assigned crew members.
• Assign tasks and monitor work progress throughout the day.
• Ensure crews understand the scope of work, schedule expectations, and quality standards.
• Communicate clearly with the Superintendent regarding labor, material, and equipment needs.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices at all times.
• Conduct or assist with daily safety discussions, toolbox talks, and job hazard reviews.
• Organize crew work to meet project schedules and daily production goals.
• Coordinate with other trades and field supervision to reduce conflicts and rework.
• Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
• Maintain regular communication with the Superintendent regarding progress and site conditions.
• Assist with daily reports, timecard accuracy, quantity tracking, and field documentation as required.
• Help train crew members in proper work methods and safety expectations.

Essential Skills

• Current union membership or eligibility under the applicable union agreement.
• Journey-level trade experience in construction.
• Prior experience leading crews or serving in a lead role preferred.
• Knowledge of construction means, methods, tools, equipment, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, details, and schedules.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on job assignment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior foreman experience on commercial, public works, school, municipal, or general construction projects.
• Experience with prevailing wage/public works projects.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to use mobile apps, tablets, or project management software for field reporting.
• Experience coordinating with multiple trades on active job sites.

Work Environment

This position involves working primarily on active construction jobsites, requiring the ability to adapt to changing priorities, multiple trades, and schedule demands. The foreman must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment and lead the crew effectively.

This is a Permanent position based out of Castroville, CA.

The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $156000.00/yr.
