MIG Welder

PrideStaff is seeking a skilled and consistent MIG Welder for a metal fabrication company in Matthews, NC . The MIG Welder is responsible for all MIG welding on columns and beams and all related materials to both during the steel fabrication process. Must have at minimum 3 years MIG welding experience working with thick gauge structural steel, working with I-Beams and must be able to weld on material ½ inchesor thicker. Location: Matthews, NC 28105 Pay: $22-$24/hr. based on experience Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00am - 4:30pm *Weekend work and overtime required MIG Welder Duties/Responsibilities: Set up column/beam preparation to the job specification Measure punched holes according to drawings for accuracy Order materials from the supply room Cut PVC drainpipe and install within a column Install conduit within column/beam if required Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area Proficient in using a MIG welding machine MIG Welder Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work. Must be able to read a tape measure. MIG Welder Education and Experience: Minimum 3 years MIG Welding Experience Completion of a formal apprenticeship program is a plus. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and welding. Must have adequate balance and ability to climb, bend, stoop, and squat. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
