Surgical Tech

JOB SUMMARY Provides surgical patient care by assisting the surgeon during operative and post-operative procedures. Key Responsibilities Assists surgeons during CVOR procedures by preparing the operating room, selecting and setting up surgical instruments and equipment, and maintaining a sterile field. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and provides necessary instruments, supplies, sutures, and sponges. Maintains a sterile environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and protocols. Responsibilities may include assisting with both direct patient care and indirect patient care duties. Participates in charge nurse duties as needed. May assist with pre-operative patient preparation and post-operative patient observation. Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Schedule / Shift 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Required Qualifications Certification as a Surgical Technologist (\"CST\") or Operating Room Technician (\"ORT\"). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist in a CVOR setting is required. Skills Proficient in sterile technique. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment. Ability to anticipate surgeon's needs during procedures. Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
