Elite Legal Billing Specialist

Our client a large law practice with an office in Denver is seeking a billing specialist well versed in Legal Billing to join their team! The Billing Specialist manages the firm's revenue cycle by generating accurate invoices, tracking billable hours, handling expenses, managing accounts receivable, and resolving client billing issues, requiring strong attention to detail, knowledge of legal billing software, and excellent communication to work with attorneys and clients while ensuring compliance with fee agreements and legal ethics. Key Responsibilities Invoice Preparation: Review and edit pre-bills, manage billable hours, adjust rates or discounts, and generate final client invoices. Electronic Billing (eBilling): Compile LEDES files, upload invoices to client vendor portals (e.g., eBillingHub), and immediately address rejections or short-paid appeals. Compliance Enforcement: Ensure all invoices strictly adhere to complex, client-specific billing guidelines and fee agreements. Collaboration: Partner with billing attorneys and administrative staff to secure invoice approvals and facilitate write-downs or write-offs. Accounts Receivable: Track outstanding balances, research billing discrepancies, and assist in collections to maximize firm cash flow. Reporting: Generate billing, unbilled revenue, and work-in-progress (WIP) reports for firm leadership. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 3 to 5 years of dedicated billing experience, specifically within the legal sector or a professional services environment. Tech Stack: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
