Full Time PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY, US Salary Range: $35.00 To $42.50 Hourly Port Jefferson ASC is a multispecialty surgery center with six operating rooms located in Port Jefferson Station. Seeking an experienced operating room Rad Tech with expert knowledge of the C-Arm OEM 9800 and OEM 9900. Responsibilities Possesses necessary knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the human body as well as the ability to recognize abnormal anatomy. Performs radiology exams using C-Arm with good placement judgment in scanning, photographing and documenting anatomy & pathology. Demonstrates competency in handling C-Arm equipment, correct exposure and location to ensure ALARA is met. Assists physician with placement of radiographic imaging equipment for the intra-operative phase of care. Possesses vocabulary of C-Arm imaging techniques, association by recognition and understands functional applications. Retains advanced aptitude for technical knowledge and the functional use of C-Arm equipment, and sophisticated supplies. Maintains the sterile field and acts appropriately with corrective action when sterility has been breached. Astute awareness to rapidly changing conditions in the work environment that requires rapid intervention and appropriate action. Manages competing demands based on thorough investigation or under the direction of the physician. Able to read and interpret technical written information or instructions for use and applies according to operate equipment safely. Possesses the knowledge and abilities to complete the process of imaging storage and reproduction in hard copy upon request. Methodically applies rational thought to practices which ensure an environment of safety for the patient when radiation is present. Consistently applies hand hygiene practices and other aseptic techniques before, during and after administering direct patient care.
