Coding Specialist

Codes and abstracts outpatient accounts daily using computer generated work ques of discharged patient encounters. Competent in coding of outpatient records for both ICD-10 CM and CPT codes for both hospital and professional. Populates correct discharge dispositions as well as applicable occurrence codes. Reviews the record for medical necessity. Assists other departments/offices as a coding resource. Follows up on accounts needing additional documentation for coding. Utilizes all specialized coding resources available for accuracy in coding.
