Quality Control Specialist

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for performing inspections of products at all stages of production to ensure the highest possible quality standards before sending finished projects to the customer. Responsibilities Foster communication and create relationships with all staff. File and maintain physical and/or digital records regarding jobs and error occurrences. Provide analysis of information regarding jobs and error occurrences. Monitor the overall effectiveness of the Project Management, Prepress, and Production teams. Provide the management team feedback, observations, and compiled data so that adjustments may be made to assure client satisfaction. Daily check the quality of as many jobs as possible that leave Printing and Mailing Services. Check that merges happen correctly (when applicable). Check artwork for consistency, margin, bleed, and layout. Check hard proofs and first‑run samples for accuracy. Check color and quality throughout the print’s duration. Check cuts, folds, and tabs in the finishing process. Check for correct insertion and adherence to postal regulations. Resolve errors by locating where they occurred in the process and referring them to the appropriate manager. Create SOPs in conjunction with the management team to prevent errors from reoccurring. Adhere to department SOPs and University policies and procedures. Represent Liberty University in an exemplary manner. Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ. Qualifications High School Diploma. 0–2 years of experience. Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Understanding of USPS regulations (preference). Problem‑solving skills. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Non‑supervisory role. Physical ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, climb stairs, handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, stoop, and pull items using a pallet jack. Working Conditions The main office is a climate‑controlled mail shop setting that is well lit; the noise level is moderate to high. The warehouse area attached to the normal working environment is not climate controlled and can vary from 30°F to 110°F, with high levels of dust and other irritants. Driving requirements: If the employee is required to travel, use of a personal vehicle or LU vehicle may be required. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required. EEO Statement The University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
