Position Overview and Qualifications

The Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab Nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing high-quality, patient-focused care that aligns with departmental needs and adheres to established standards of practice. Working alongside medical professionals and other team members, the RN delivers personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care based on established nursing frameworks. The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and clinical results that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored nursing care to adult patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and specialized radiology procedures, including preparation and recovery.
• Conduct specialized cardiac assessments for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Observe, document, and communicate any changes in patients’ conditions.
• Maintain precise and thorough records and reports.
• Document patients’ medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant care information.
• Adjust patient treatment plans based on their responses and conditions.
• Prepare patients for examinations or treatments and assist as needed.

Qualifications Required:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma is mandatory; a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or a compact state is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is necessary, or 2 years in an ICU or ED setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be secured within 90 days of starting employment.
