Key Responsibilities\n

• Establish and maintain a trusting rapport with patients to foster a supportive therapeutic environment.

• Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose mental health disorders and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique circumstances.

• Provide ongoing counseling to individuals and couples through various modalities, adjusting treatment strategies based on patient feedback and progress.

• Regularly conduct evaluations of patient progress, documenting changes in behavior and responses to treatment to measure effectiveness.

• Utilize evidence-based practices to address co-occurring disorders and substance abuse issues, ensuring a responsive approach to patient needs.

• Facilitate therapy sessions that may involve psychoeducation, behavioral interventions, and coping skills building.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and make appropriate referrals to specialists as required for comprehensive care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As an LMFT at Guiding Hands, you will primarily work with community members experiencing a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and substance use disorders. Your expertise will support individuals, couples, and families as they navigate personal difficulties, allowing them to regain stability and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and active LMFT license in the state of Virginia is required.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

• Strong therapeutic skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and motivate clients through effective communication.
\n
• Competency in case documentation and treatment planning aligned with best practices and regulatory standards.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team structure.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in addiction counseling or working with clients who have co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with various therapeutic frameworks, including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
