Structural Building Engineer – Project Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Manage structural engineering projects from initial planning through final design, including developing project scopes, preparing budgets, and coordinating design activities.

• Serve as the Engineer of Record, taking responsibility for project quality and technical accuracy, including reviewing, signing, and sealing engineering calculations and construction documents as required.

• Perform and oversee structural analysis and design for a variety of building projects.

• Lead and mentor project engineers and other team members, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional development.

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, local officials, and other design professionals throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assist with preparing proposals, scopes of work, project estimates, and other business development materials.

• Work closely with project managers, engineering leaders, and other internal teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

• Support other engineering disciplines with structural design needs related to site development projects.

• Apply applicable building codes, engineering standards, and company safety procedures to all project work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural engineering experience, with a focus on building design.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

• Experience managing structural engineering projects involving building design.

• Strong background in structural analysis and design for building structures.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.

• Experience using structural analysis and design software.

• Knowledge of structural materials and construction methods, including structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, and precast/prestressed concrete.

• Familiarity with construction inspections, construction documentation, and applicable building codes and design standards.

• Ability to lead project teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong client relationships.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

• Positive attitude, self-motivation, and willingness to take on a variety of projects.
