The clinical services provided include telemetry monitoring, patient and family education, physical assessment, post procedure recovery, pre procedure monitoring and preparation, oxygen therapy, blood administration, pain management, IV therapy, sheath removal, radial hemostasis band management, and medication administration.

• Patient Population/ Typical diagnosis: Advanced Heart Failure and Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD), Cardiomyopathy, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Dysrhythmias, Valvar Heart Disease, Congenital Heart Disease, pre and post Cardiac Catheterization, Structural Heart, and Electrophysiology procedural care
• Targeted Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4

Job Description

Job Summary: Regarded as clinical expert and role model in application of the nursing process and evidence-based practice to manage the complex care needs of specific patient populations. Serves as a resource person to physicians, nurses, patients, and family members. Applies principles of adult learning to plan and conduct educational sessions to promote staff development, student competence, and positive patient/family outcomes. Role models expert communication skills to colleagues through example. Demonstrates foresight regarding the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes based on intuition and experience. Is recognized as an expert clinician and a leader within their area of specialty. Completes employee conference, risk management and unit management reports within specified time frames. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Staff and Preceptor Education/Development
• Operational, Quality, and Compliance
• Patient/Family Education and Communication

Qualifications: Minimum required: Education - Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Experience - 2 years of recent nursing experience AND a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration. Licensure - A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing. Certification - 1. BLS certification 2. ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire 3. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty 4. Must complete UNE criteria requirements within nine (9) months of promotion or hire, including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488. 5. If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire. Employees in role prior to 11/09/2025 will have until their next renewal date to achieve compact status PLAN: 1. Meets all Clinical Nurse I Employee Commitments. 2. Completion of VIP or EBP Project. 3. Achieves points/electives and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain position. 4. Completion of formal preceptor training workshop. Preferred Qualifications: Education - MSN or DNP Certification - Nursing certification.

Physical Requirements: (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Environmental Factors: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
