Summary

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Youth Center , Beale AFB, CA.

You will be scheduled to work anywhere from 0-40 hours per week; hours are not guaranteed. This position does not receive benefits.

Moderately heavy physical effort is required in occasionally lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and in pushing heavy furniture, loading carts, etc. Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Duties

Help

Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from tracks, dollies, etc., moves heavy boxes, cartons, or luggage by hand, hand truck, or dolly; opens crates and boxes using crowbars, and cuts bands using shears; stacks boxes and cartons where directed. Takes items to the recycle center, hazmat and other disposal sites. Performs groundskeeping tasks such as moving sand and dirt with a shovel, filling holes on playgrounds and sports fields, and weeding. Levels bumps and low spots using a shovel, hand tamper, and rake. Operates hand lawnmowers and domestic-type powered lawnmowers. Clears small trees and bushes using a handsaw, hatchet, or clippers. Removes pests and insects throughout the facility and grounds. Power washes exterior facilities and playground equipment. Assembles furniture, toys, and various pieces of equipment upon delivery. Moves and arranges furniture as directed to support program needs. Performs minor sanding and painting tasks to maintain the appearance of facilities. Changes light bulbs and assists with minor upkeep on appliances. Assists with minor preventative maintenance on vehicles. Moves and arranges furniture as directed; shovels snow from sidewalks; washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or power buffer

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
• This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
• This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent to have a valid driver's license.
• This position requires the incumbent to complete a drug test with favorable results.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:

This is an entry level position and no minimum qualifications are required for this position. Ability to use, control, and clean common hand tools, and simple power equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
