Mechanical Estimator – Lead Preconstruction Cost-Estimating for Commercial Mechanical ProjectsYou will serve as a critical preconstruction leader, driving the successful preparation of accurate, complete, and competitive cost estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects. This role allows you to secure profitable work and evaluate project risks while ensuring scope clarity for a company that values your dedication. You will have the autonomy to manage multiple bids and the support of an operational team focused on long-term career growth.Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for commercial mechanical systems including HVAC piping, ductwork, and hydronic systems.Analyze detailed project documents to identify scope gaps, overlaps, coordination issues, and special requirements.Prepare comprehensive labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates using modern estimating software.Solicit, review, and level vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure complete scope alignment and competitive pricing.Identify value engineering options, alternate materials, and cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.Coordinate with project management and operations teams during turnover to communicate critical scope assumptions and risks.High school diploma or equivalent certification.Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems, materials, installation practices, and contract documents.Proficiency in estimating software such as FastPIPE, FastDUCT, or related industry technology tools.Advanced mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills necessary for managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills required for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.Mastery of Microsoft Office applications with a specific emphasis on Excel and Outlook.Reliable weekly pay cycle with opportunities for performance-based Year-End Bonuses.Comprehensive health benefits package including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.Health Savings Account (HSA) options along with Life and Disability insurance plans.Paid time off for major holidays and scheduled vacation days.401(k) retirement savings program.Specialized factory training, paid certifications, and structured mentor programs.Company-branded shirts and all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.Feddon Mechanical LLC is a premier mechanical contractor specializing in commercial, industrial, and federal projects.
