Senior Property Accountant

A growing and financially stable organization is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join its accounting team. This position will be responsible for financial reporting, account analysis, month-end close activities, and maintaining the financial records for an assigned portfolio of assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Lead month-end and year-end close activities for an assigned portfolio. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items. Analyze financial results and investigate significant fluctuations from expectations. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external reporting requirements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Review transactions for accuracy and proper accounting treatment. Support cash management, account analysis, and reporting functions. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Assist with special projects, audits, and other accounting initiatives as needed. Collaborate with operations, finance, and cross-functional business partners. Serve as a resource for junior accounting staff and assist with training and development. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation or active progress toward CPA certification. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement analysis. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Property accounting, real estate accounting, or multi-entity accounting experience. Experience supporting fixed assets, lease accounting, or portfolio-based accounting environments. Familiarity with ERP or accounting software platforms. Experience participating in budgeting and forecasting processes. Public accounting background. Why Consider This Opportunity?
