Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile equipment and supplies, ensuring a smooth operative process. They work closely with surgeons and nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Set up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, and medications required for surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Anticipate surgeon preferences for instruments and materials, responding proactively to support surgical needs.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and maintain the sterility of surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards.
  
  
• 
  Reassemble and sterilize instruments and equipment after procedures, adhering to sterilization protocols.
  
  
• 
  Develop and implement educational programs and learning aids for surgical team members and staff.
  
  
• 
  Provide backup support for emergency surgeries, assisting as needed during complex procedures.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) at the time of submission.
  
  
• 
  Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  
  
• 
  Have completed a technologist training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or equivalent.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate at least 1 year of surgical technologist experience.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and appropriate surgical instrumentation.
  
  
• 
  Possess excellent sterile technique, patient positioning, and intraoperative support skills.
