Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - Morrisville, NC - Mon-Fri mornings/afternoons

Job Description

Job Description

$23/hour billable · Mon–Fri mornings/afternoons · in-home in Morrisville

Step Ahead ABA has an in-home case open in Morrisville and we're looking for the right RBT for it.

Is this your match?

• You're free Mon–Fri mornings/afternoons
• A BCBA is already assigned to this case and already covers this region

If those are a yes, apply. Our placement team will walk you through the exact days, times and neighborhood at interview, before you commit to anything.

Already an RBT at Step Ahead? Read this first.
Our current RBTs get first look at every new case. We fill from inside before we go outside, for two reasons: our clients get continuity, and our RBTs get the hours.
If you're accruing supervision hours toward your BCBA and this matches your availability, we'd love to place you. Message your placement coordinator or apply here.

Cases fill quickly. If this posting is up, the case is still open. We take postings down the day a client is matched.

Why Step Ahead ABA
We believe every autistic child and their family deserves access to therapy, no matter their income. Step Ahead supports families on Medicaid across North Carolina, and we go the extra mile to keep those plans open. Every family gets a dedicated care manager and a schedule built around their real week.
We also believe great therapy starts with great technicians. Great technicians deserve real support, flexible hours, competitive pay, and a career path they can see.

How placement works
We match RBTs to cases on two things: what the client clinically needs, and whose schedule fits. We're straight with you about where a case is and what it asks before you take it, and we won't put you somewhere that doesn't work for your week. What we won't do is pretend you're picking from a menu — the client's needs come first, and that's the job.

The clinical side

• You deliver 97153 direct therapy to a treatment plan and behavior intervention plan written by the BCBA who assessed the client.
• Your BCBA is assigned before you start. You get the plan, an introduction, and the family's care manager as support.
• Supervision is supportive. Your Step Ahead BCBA provides competency assessments, observation, and feedback you can use — not just a signature.
• You collect session data and submit notes for the work you do. Non-billable time is paid, and the rate is below.
• Our BCBAs and clinical directors are experienced and here to support you.

Who thrives at Step Ahead
The RBTs who do best with us are passionate about their kiddos. They read the plan before the session, tell their BCBA when something looks off instead of waiting for supervision day, and treat a family's home like a family's home. They show up consistently, and they treat each child like the gem they are.
You want a real career supporting children with autism, and a team of RBTs and BCBAs around you in a company that actually gives you flexibility.

What this role requires

• Active RBT registration with the BACB, current on your start date. This one has no exception. Not registered yet? Pre-register for our free BT Speedrun program and we'll get you there.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior ABA experience
• Availability Mon–Fri mornings/afternoons
• Comfort working in a family's home
• Reliable transportation
• Able to stay active and engaged in session

What you get

• From $23 per hour for direct therapy. $10 per hour for paid non-billable time — training and required meetings, a small share of the week. You know both numbers before you start.
• Bonuses for cancelled sessions. A client cancellation shouldn't wipe out your week.
• Floating holidays by level.
• Capella University partnership — discounted tuition and degree support, plus BCBA supervision and a pathway if that's where you're headed.
• Benefits at 40 hours a week. Our placement team will tell you what else is open near you.

Apply below and our placement team will be in touch.
