The remaining 10 hours of the standard 40‑hour work week may be completed either on campus or at another approved location and should be dedicated to instructional preparation and support activities, including course development, grading, attendance, student communication, instructional planning, clinical preparation, reporting, and activities supporting student success, program compliance, and completion. Instructors are expected to maintain a regular schedule consistent with instructional assignments, clinical schedules, departmental needs, program operations, and institutional responsibilities. Work hours may vary based on teaching assignments, laboratory and simulation activities, clinical site schedules, student support requirements, recruitment activities, program events, and other instructional, program, or College‑related obligations. The work schedule may include daytime hours, early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends based on instructional schedules and clinical site requirements. Maintain course content, gradebooks, attendance records, and instructional materials within the College’s learning management system. Evaluate and revise instructional strategies, course materials, and learning activities based on assessment data, student performance, program outcomes, and regulatory expectations. Ensure instructional activities align with North Carolina Board of Nursing Education Rules, approved curriculum standards, accreditation requirements, and program outcomes. Evaluate and utilize Open Educational Resources (OER) and/or Affordable Educational Resources (AER) where appropriate to support student affordability, access, learning outcomes, and instructional quality. Select traditional textbooks or publisher‑supported resources when OER/AER materials are not feasible, available, or appropriate due to curricular, accreditation, licensure, or program‑specific needs. Clinical Supervision and Student Learning Supervise students in clinical settings to ensure safe patient care and adherence to clinical agency policies, program standards, and professional expectations. Collaborate with the Director, Nursing, Practical Nursing program leadership, faculty, and clinical partners to support high‑quality clinical learning experiences. Participate in the evaluation of clinical sites, student clinical performance, and clinical learning outcomes.
