Electrical TechnicianThe Electrical Technician will be responsible to the Maintenance Superintendent for the safe, efficient & cost effective operation of HKN Syria Block in Rmelan region of Syria. They will perform preventive and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely and effectively on electrical and instrumentation systems. The ability to work in and understand the limitations of extremes of weather. Remote site and camp based position requiring the candidate to work 2 weeks on by 2 weeks off rotation with flexibility to move to 3 weeks on 3 weeks off if required.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesSite focal point for all Electrical safety issues. Perform isolations/de-isolations as required and perform preventative and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely and effectively on safety and control systems and equipment. (400v Max) Maximizing the Instrument, Control, and Safety Systems to safely and efficiently contribute to delivering optimum site production. Ensuring safe and efficient operation of allocated Electrical equipment, systems, and installation areas. To carry out all Fire & Gas support and associated activities. Implementing planned maintenance programme directly reporting to Maintenance supervisor Diagnosing and rectifying faults to maximize equipment availability, identify spares requirement and initiate ordering of same. Monitoring and controlling works by vendors/contractors within his/her remit. Raising work orders and work permits and preparing work-packs, as appropriate to progress work, also for vendors and contractors.Decision–Making AuthorityLocally shutdown all or parts of designated area of work when abnormal running or unsafe conditions arise or are observed.Working and Other Reporting RelationshipsWork closely with all other site personnel. Ensure production personnel are fully aware of ongoing activities. Ensure site supervision is fully briefed on ongoing and planned activities.Minimum Professional Experience RequiredMust have previous experience in an E&I dual role with exposure to all aspects of maintenance in oil and gas processes. Minimum 5 years experience with oil and gas industry. Demonstrated experience working with HV/LV systemsSpecial Requirements and ConditionsA pre-requisite is the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written. Experienced in working with Maintenance and Material Management systems. Industrial training mentor and assessor qualification preferred. Able to work well within an international and multi-cultural environment. Strong communication skills. In depth understanding of technical safety practice.
